Horrorspaß mit 3D Effekten - das Fantasy Filmfest stellt Brillen zur Verfügung!
Quittiert vom diabolischen Grinsen des Clowns und unter den entsetzten Blicken der kleinen Yen und ihres Bruders, stürzt ein Mädchen aus dem Riesenrad eines Vergnügungsparks. Nach einer Reihe weiterer Unglücksfälle wird der Park geschlossen und ist 14 Jahre später nur noch eine verwilderte Ruine.
Das Gelände aber hat sich sein hinterlistiges Eigenleben bewahrt. Das Böse geht um und als es Yens Bruder dorthin zurück treibt, verschwindet er buchstäblich im Erdboden. Auch für den von Yen zusammen getrommelten Suchtrupp beginnt eine Achterbahnfahrt des Grauens mit echten und Tod bringenden Geistern, die die Teenager munter durch die Anlage scheuchen.
Höhepunkte stellen dabei die Szenen im "Haunted House", denn hier hat sich die spukende Brut zu Hundertschaften versammelt und macht den Menschenkindern nur allzu gern den Garaus...

Everyone knows you don't go poking around abandoned amusement parks, especially ones that closed after the death of a little girl who mysteriously fell from the Ferris wheel. But tell that to Alan, who's feeling a strange tug toward the park after he reads an old newspaper article about its closing 14 years ago. So, he wanders in... but he doesn't wander out.
Meanwhile, his sister Yen is worried about Alan, and their mother, the neighborhood exorcist, thinks he's dead. Yen thinks different, so she gathers a group of her friends and heads to the park to find Alan. It turns out that Alan's not just riding the tilt-a-whirl an extra time or two. And we've got a pretty good idea what's going to happen to this little group of pals, too, since The Park is partially in 3-D, and that can only mean mayhem.
From Andrew Lau, the director of some of Hong Kong's hottest films of the last ten years, comes this roller-coaster ride of a horror movie, packed with everything you've ever wanted from a 3-D haunted amusement park movie - demonic children, crazy caretakers, scary clowns, hopping vampires, beheadings and thrills galore. Just keep reminding yourself, "It's only a film festival, it's only a film festival..."
“3-D makes a return to the horror genre with this energetic fright film from Hong Kong. That territory's current reigning hit-maker Andrew Lau (the director behind the Young and Dangerous and Infernal Affairs series, along with such blockbusters as The Stormriders) brings a vibrantly colorful visual sensibility to this macabre tale, lending the film an almost psychedelic quality even without the ghosts leaping off the screen into your lap.
Lau has made The Park an interactive 3-D experience, as the film alternates between 2-D and 3-D, with an on-screen alert that flashes to instruct the viewer when the glasses are to be worn, and when they should be removed. Featuring some eye-popping ghost effects and a surprisingly moving climax, The Park is a great deal of fun. It may not reinvent the medium of cinema, but hey -- when's the last time you saw Wong Kar-wai or Lars von Trier make a 3-D horror movie?”
